I found a vintage quilt at a rural estate sale recently, and as I unfolded it, I saw that there were hand-stitched names in between the floral quilt blocks. Soon I realized that this was a friendship quilt, and each name was probably hand-stitched by each friend since each one is done in a different style.
We will never know all of the stories behind this quilt, but I knew I needed to honor the names of these friends that came together to create this piece. Inside each of these bags, there is a hand-stitched name.
The names stitched in these bags are: Dona, Zula and Willie.
